Saptkund trek is a group of seven lakes situated in Ghat block of Chamoli district in foothills of Mt. Nanda Ghunti. It is still less explore destination and can count as offbeat trekking destination. Saptkund situated at an altitude of 5200 meter above sea level. One can reach base from Haridwar/Rishikesh or Dehradun and via Deoprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and from Karanaprayag following Joshimath –Badrinath Highway till Nandprayag , road diverts to Ghat from Nandprayag.

Saptkund trek offers magnificent view of Himalayan peaks like Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Mrigthuni and many more Garhawal and Kumoun Himalayas peaks, this trek pass through dense forest and beautiful Himalayan meadows like SimbeBugyal which is a memorable time in life.

Saptkund Trek can be connect with Lord Curzen trail (kwari Pass Trek) or Ronti saddle Roopkund Trek and can do round trip but bit difficult so mostly trekkers prefer to do same way this Trek. Ghuni and Ramni Village is the base of this trek, villegers still following their ancient culture, Tradition and method of agriculture.
About Seven Lakes of Saptkund Trek
Parvati Kund: The first of the Saptakund group is the ParvatiKund, which is spread over an area of about 500 meters.
Ganesh Kund: This kund is spread over an area of about 800 meters.
NaradaKund: This pool is spread over an area of 200 meters.
Shiv Kund: It is the largest pool of the group, which is spread over an area of about one km. This Kund is worshiped by Bhagwati Nanda's Doli during the annual Lokajat. A small temple is also built here.
Nandi Kund: This pool is spread over an area of about 500 meters.
Bhairav Kund: This is the smallest size pool of Saptakund group. It is spread over an area of hundred meters.
Shakti Kund: Spread over an area of about 200 meters, this kund is located near the peak. The other six pools are far below this.

Average Temperature : Pindari Glacier trek
The average temperature in the day time will be about 14°C-18°C and in the night time, it can be a slow as 2°C-7°C and can drop to -2°C - 10°C
One should bring enough pair of clothes and better quality trekking boots so that the trekker can be covered thoroughly and does not face any difficulty during the stay at this temperature.
There is a vast difference in the mountain temperature, and when it's about the trek to Pindari Glacier trek as it is the higher altitude trek, so it might be possible that one can encounter a little difficulty during acclimatization.
Therefore it is essential to bring all warm clothes, and that may not even affect the backpack too much.
