Kedarkatha trek is one of the famous winter trek situated in Uttarakashi district of Uttarakhand lies in the Govind Wild Life Senctuary, offers glimps of The Himalayan Peaks, Green Meadows & Floor and Fauna. It is close to the Har Ki Dun Valley and Tons river flows from here. Kedakantha base is at the height of 12200 ft and Kedarkantha peak is 12500 ft. This trail is accessible through the year, in winter season we can see snow covered view of this valley.

Kedarkantha trek start from sankri villege which is around 170 km from dehradun. Sankari is the getways of many treks like Har Ki Doon, Kedarkantha, Bali Pass, Ruinsara Lake, Rupin Pass, Borasu Pass and some mountaineering expeditions. You will pass through Mussoorie, Barkot, Purola, Mori, Netwar to reach Sankri Village. Kedarkantha trek is one the easiest treks in the Himalayas to enjoy thick snow cover in 5 to 6 days and popular choice for beginners and snow lover, you can do this trek with your friends, family or can join Go Himalayas fixed departures.

Kedarkantha Trek is moderate level of trek but during snowfall it becomes difficult due to slippery and Hidden way, sometime heavy snowfall then not possible to reach to summit point.
Is it suitable for children's?
Yes, the trek is favorable for children's who are up to 15 years old as the difficulty level is moderater but should be experienced of any treking before and avoid heavy snowfall and can do in Summer season.

Average Temperature :
The average temperature in winter will be about Day -2°C to -5° C and Night -5°C to -10°C and in summer Day 5°C to 15°C and Night 2° C to 5° C.
One should bring enough pair of clothes and better quality trekking boots so that the trekker can be covered thoroughly and does not face any difficulty during the stay at this temperature.
There is a vast difference in the mountain temperature, and when it's about the trek to Pindari Glacier trek as it is the higher altitude trek, so it might be possible that one can encounter a little difficulty during acclimatization.
Therefore it is essential to bring all warm clothes, and that may not even affect the backpack too much.
