Traill's Pass Expedition (5312 m) is a challenging mountain pass, which adventure enthusiastic, Mountaineers want to do once in a life. It is between of Nanda Devi(7816 m) & Nanda Kot (6861m) Peak. Earlier its known as Pindari Kanda,This Trail starts from Pindari valley & end in Milam valley of Kumaon region in Pithoragarh District. It is ancient trade route of Johar Valley & Pinder Valley. George William Crossed this pass in 1830 first time. Pindari River originates from here which flows in Garhwal region and one of the Ganga’s Tributary River.

Traill's Pass Expedition

Traill's pass is trekking expedition and require basic skills of mountaineering and well experience of high altitude pass. Traill's pass expedition requires 15 days from kathgodam rail head which well connected railway station in kumoun region, this trail pass follow Pindari glacier trek till Pindari. there is Baba Dharmanand cave in Pindari and famous around the world, many trekkers visit here around the world for meeting Babaji, Baba Dharmanand offers hot meals and tea to every visitor.Mrs. Ratledge was the first woman to cross this high giripath. This was the first expedition team to cross this Giripath from the North-East. He was guided by Diwan Singh, a resident of Martoli.

Traill's Pass Expedition

Traill's pass expedition connecting the Pindari glacier in Bageshwar district to the Milam glacier in Munsiyari is called the Trail Pass. The trail is at an elevation of 5312 meters between the peaks of Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot. The attempt of Maluk Singh, a resident of Soupi village of Danpur region to cross the Giripath, about 18000 feet high between Chanpur and Johar Valley, was found successful in 1830, when Kumaon Commissioner George William Trail, Maluk Singh With the help of Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot succeeded in crossing a Giripath between the high snow peaks. Since then, this Giripath got its name near the trail. G.V. The trail also built a three-foot-wide trek route on the grassy slope to the right of Pindari Glacier.

Day 01

Arrive Kathgodam & Drive to Bageswer : 165 km : 5 hrs.

Reach Kathgodam its Nearest Railway Station in Morning, our vehicle will pick up you & drive for Bageswer. Its 5 to 6 Hours journey which passes through many towns & villages of Kumoun region.
Bageswer is famous for Bagnath Temple which is situated in Heart of town and bank of Saryu River. It’s a last town in this Trail , so need to check/Buy all required things for this trail.
Night Stay in Bageswer.

Day 02

Bageshwar To Khati village(2210 m.)/Ringladhar Camp– 68km Drive & 5 Km Trek

Today first day of this adventure trek , will drive till Kharkiya and from there will start trek to Khati Village, Ringladhar campsite. Night Stay in Camp.

Day 03

Ringladhar Camp to Furkiya camp(3010 mtrs): 16 km : 6-7 hrs

After having breakfast ready your bags with pack lunch, start trek to Furkiya Campsite, the trail passes Through the dense forest can enjoy many view points, streams and waterfalls. Flora&fauna wild animal like Leopard,Dear,Mountain got,a family of Himalayan black bear etc.

Day 04

Furkiya camp To Base camp(Pindari): (3925 m) : 9 km – 4 Hours

Pindari Glacier is the most accessible Glacier & its famous spot around world for Trekking, There is a Cave of Baba Dharmanad who stay there and welcomes trekkers. From here we can see Mt. Baljuri, Mt. Panwalidwar, Mt. Nandakhat, Mt. Changuch, Mt. Nanda Kot. Night stay in Camp.

Day 05

Acclimatization Day

Today is the acclimatization day & need to check yout gears, Fitness for this adventures trail.

Day 06

Base camp To Sura Kharak (4101 m)camp.

We will start Trek towards Sura Kharak bit steep & Desend, after decend again ascend to Surya Kharak.
This campsite offers magnificent view of Pinder Valley & Himalayan Peaks Ranges.

Day 07

Sura Kharak To Takhta kharak camp(4432m) ,

Climb up to Takhta Kharak Camp, Speculator view from this camp. Mt. Nanda Devi, Mt. Nanda Kot, Mt. Nanda Khat, Mt. Baljuri peaks. Night stay in Takhta Campsite.

Day 08

Takhta Kharak (camp 2) To Rock wall camp,Altitude-4850 meter.

Thakta kharak Camp is base of Mt. Nanda Khat, Mt. Changuch & Trails Pass. Its quit ascent to Rock wall Camp & will see Trails pass from this Camp.

Day 09

Rock wall camp - crossing Trails Pass(5311 m) To Lake camp(4620M)

Today is challenging day for this trail, we have to fix 100 meter rope and need to ropeup everyone & Climb the Trails pass, after Crossing Trail’s Pass will setup camp in Lake Camp whice is in ridge of Trails Pass.

Day 10

Lake Camp To Lawan Glacier Camp(4250M),

Today well move to Lawan Glacier, which is gradual descend through Glacier and will set up camp in Lawan Glecier.

Day 11

Lawan Glacier camp To Martoli village(3220m) : 16 km :6-7 Hrs Trek

Today we will trek alongside of Lawan river, Gradual downhill trek, we will Lawan Village after we have to Cross Salang River, After Crossing Salang River at distance of 5 km, we will reach to Martoli Village.
Martoli is an Ancient trade village, trades with Tibbat, Malari, Milam, here we still can see culture & Tradition.

Day 12

Martoli village To Bugudyar(2852) : 17 km – 6 to 7 Hours trek

Gradual trek along Gori Ganga River, Trek crossing Railkot Campsite, Nahar Devi. We will set up Camp in Bugdyar Today.

Day 13

Bugudyar camp to Munsiyari(2020 m) : 16 km :5 to 6 hrs Trek

Today will Trek to Munsyari Hill Station, gradual trek till Jimigad & from there drive 18 km to Munsyari.
Night Stay in Guest House/Hotel.

Day 14

Munsiyari to kathgodam : 260 km : 7-8 Hours

Today Last day of this Adventure Himalayan Trails, Morning after Breakfast Drive for Kathgodam via Kalamuni Top, Birthi Fall, Berinag, Thal, Almora.
Evening will reach kathgodam & depart for your destination.
