Home Stay in Mukteshwar
Home stay in Mukteshwar is one of the best option to stay in litigants of the Himalayas, it located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an altitude of 2171 meters in the Kumaon hills. From here, the peaks of the Himalayan mountains like Nanda Devi, Trishul etc. are seen. There is a temple of Shiva at the top of a hill, which is situated at an altitude of 2315 meters. This temple is famous as 'Mukteshwar Temple'. To reach this temple one has to climb about 100 stairs. Here Lord Brahma, Vishnu, Parvati, Hanuman and Nandi are also seated along with Lord Shiva. There is a gathering of langurs outside the temple.
Since Mukteshwar is a small hill station, there will not be many options to stay and eat here, but there is no problem of living or eating. There are a lot of places to see around Mukteshwar. Almora, Binsar and Nainital are nearby from here. If you wish, you can enjoy boating at Bhimtal while going to Mukteshwar or coming back from Mukteshwar. If you go to Mukteshwar, try the dry potato vegetable and onion pakoras found here. Onion pakoras are eaten with chutney, while the spicy dry vegetable of potato is eaten like this without chapatti.
Mukteshwar, situated in the hills of Kumaon, is a beautiful hill station in Uttarakhand, which is located at a distance of about 350 km from Delhi. Mukteswar can be reached by road from Delhi via Moradabad-Haldwani-Kathgodam-Bhimtal, about eight hours drive.
How to reach
If you want to go by Train, there is a direct train service from Delhi to Kathgodam. Buses or taxis are easily available from Kathgodam itself to complete the 73 km journey from Kathgodam to Mukteshwar.
