    Trip to chopta/tunganath
We went there on Holi. On Holi, buses, cabs, ATM’s, restaurants are closed in Uttarakhand, so plan accordingly.
Deoria Tal didn’t have snow but it was beautiful. We camped near the lake. Trek guide had arranged food and camp.
Trek from Deoria Tal to chopta was closed so we took cab till chopta and started Tunganath trek. It was a beautiful trek, tough coz of snow and slippery track, but we reached the top in 4hours. It started snowing and chandrashila was too risky so we didn’t go there. We came down in 1.5hrs, mostly sliding down on snow. Tip: carry trekking pole and waterproof jacket and gloves. We get trekking shoes on rent at chopta for rs.200.
Trek guide was pretty helpful as he arranged food and camp at chopta.
Overall, trip was amazing, and Go Himalayas organised things pretty well, so everything went smoothly.
